Note: The Brief Western Basin Earthquake Report (or Brief WGB) is a colorized version of the Seismo-Watch Newspaper Earthquake Report that appears in the Reno Gazette-Journal (Example). The feature began in October 1992 and its success essentially pioneered the entire Seismo-Watch earthquake reporting service. While the report has taken on many different faces since its inception, it has clearly been a leader in informing people along the California/Nevada border of their seismic activity.
