| JACKSON, WYOMING, SEPTEMBER 27, 2001 (Seismo-Watch) -- A moderate earthquake measuring ML 4.2 (NEIC) occurred about 33 miles east of Jackson in a remote area in northwestern Wyoming. There have been no felt reports at this time
The quake occurred about 33 miles east of Jackson, 23 miles west-southwest of Dubois, AND 20 miles south of Togwotee Pass, near the Fremont-Sublette-Teton Tri-County border junction. (See a TopoZone location map or a MapQuest location map). The exact location is two miles west of the Fremont-Teton County line in the Park Creek drainage, near Buffalo Meadow. The University Utah Seismic Stations, the regional seismic network operators, has triggered on this event but they have not completed their analysis at this time.
