During May 1994 - May 1995, a 30 second Seismo-Watch Earthquake Report spot was created for KOLO-News Channel 8, Reno, Nevada. The procedure was coordinated with the weather anchor person, Tony Sheldon, who showed a basic regional epicenter map for 30 Seconds and ad-lib a prepared script about the activity. This format was successful with the WeartherChannel who continues this earthquake reporting approach today.
The spot ran once a week during the prime time local news broadcast for over a year. The feature was discontinued when the weather anchor person relocated to another television station.
